Dr Stone New World Part 2 has now been confirmed for a release this October as part of the Fall 2023 anime schedule. We expect the show will follow the manga plot closely, which means we’ll see the brilliant Senku, Ryusui and the science team develop an ingenious way to get aboard the Perseus and revive their friends.
What should we expect from Dr Stone New World Part 2? Well, all we know for sure is that the first episode (episode 12) of the season 3 cour 2 is called ‘The Kingdom of Science Strikes Back’ – the same name as chapter 117 of the manga. So, the manga readers may have already guessed what it is about. As for the anime watchers only, wait a bit more to find out. I’m not gonna divulge anything and make it a spoiler fest.
I was just taking in the joy of my first article for Deshi Geek in the form of Ooku: The Inner Chambers review and suddenly got assigned to do the news of Dr Stone. Frankly, it was surprising as I thought the season 3 was already released and no new season is in the pipeline for this year. Who knew there would be a cour 2 named Dr Stone New World Part 2?!! As mentioned in Anime News Network the second cour is bound for October and TMS Entertainment is on a roll with this project.
Dr Stone New World Part 2 Synopsis
In Dr Stone Season New World Part 2, Senku and some members of the Kingdom of Science build a ship and set sail to find the spacecraft that Senku’s father landed on Earth years before they were freed from their stone prisons. However, when they arrive on the island where the spacecraft is located, they encounter various new challenges and obstacles.
Crunchyroll describes the story as such, “After the Stone Wars are over, the former members of Tsukasa’s Empire of Might collaborate with the Kingdom of Science to build a ship capable of sailing across the open ocean in order to find answers to the mystery of the global petrification. However, before they can begin their voyage Senku and his friends need to find some key resources and push some new scientific advancements to build the type of vessel they need.”
This exciting episode will go deeper into the captivating story of the New World, taking us on an eccentric journey filled with scientific wonders, intense battles, and unexpected turns of events. We must brace ourselves for what is to come. The adventurous thrilling journey of Senku and his companions is sure to keep us at the edge of our seats.
Real Star Of The Show
Let’s discuss the real star of the show, science. Like I said in the beginning, Senku is brilliant. He uses his great scientific mind to adapt to and navigate through this new world. Episode by episode, we watch Senku create modern technologies in this stone world. All these accomplishments of Senku can be attributed to science in one way or another.
Science has been the cornerstone of all the adventures undertaken since the beginning of Dr Stone. And, it will be no different in Dr Stone New World Part 2. Rather, we will witness more newly invented technologies by Senku as we dig deeper into the story. Basing my reasonings on these points it can safely be said that science and I repeat science is the real star of the show. And, I say this not undermining all the other aspects of the anime.
A New World Of Adventures And Thrill
Dr Stone New World Part 2 will pick up right where Part 1 left off. This is in the middle of the Treasure Island Arc of the manga. Predictably enough, Senku heads for the Pegasus to revive his friends. It takes a while, but Ryusui and Kaseki do get revived.
The next order of business was to deal with Ibara. To do this, Senku must take risks and revive some dangerous people. Namely: Yo and Hyoga.
If those two don’t immediately turn against him, Senku’s got a fight on his hands. Will he be able to prevail and free the entire Petrification Kingdom?
Where To Watch?
Different Dr Stone seasons are available on various streaming services. The only streaming service to have every entry of Dr Stone, including the special, is Crunchyroll. So, that has to be the go-to streaming service for fans to watch Dr Stone New World Part 2.
Funimation and Netflix have most of them but miss a season or two, along with the special. I do hope the second cour of New World will be on both platforms for the sake of a larger audience. And on that note, stay tuned to Deshi Geek for more anime news.
