Dunki Loading As SRK And Hirani Collaborates

After two blockbusters earlier this year, Shah Rukh Khan is coming back with ‘Dunki’, most probably another record breaker in the making. And, coupled with the casting of the ‘Baadshah of Bollywood’, Dunki is giving the vibes of another project that will be fondly remembered for decades to come. The Red Chillies Entertainment production may as well brew the biggest storm of the year this coming December as it is slated for theatrical release on the 22^nd of December. Yash Raj Films is also involved in the project as the overseas distributor.

Most interestingly on the same day of Dunki’s release, the much-hyped ‘Salaar’ of Prabhas will hit the theaters as well. Although the previous mega-budget project of Prabhas ‘Adipurush’ was a major disappointment his upcoming battle at the box office with SRK is definitely going to “Masaladaar”. Then again, the recent craze of SRK’s come-back is so blinding that it can be assumed Prabhas will have to stay in the shadows this time. However, nothing is set in stone yet as it is still a month to go before both films take their rightful places on the silver screen.

A Collaboration Long Overdue

The story of Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani goes back two decades as it was SRK whom Hirani wanted to cast for his timeless masterpiece Munna Bhai M.B.B.S instead of Sanjay Dutt. Shah Rukh reportedly rejected the film due to his commitments to other projects. But even the ‘King Khan’ may have regretted that decision as Munna Bhai went on to become one of the most beloved characters in Indian Cinema history. Sanjay Dutt was actually the best choice for that role in my opinion.

After that media intensified jargon that went on and on it was time for speculation. Whenever Hirani announced a project SRK was mentioned over and over again, however, it was not to be. Fate did not allow the union of the world’s biggest movie star (arguably) and the genius director for two decades until finally it was revealed to the world that these two talented men were collaborating at last. The news shook the film industry and with the mesmerizing comeback of SRK, it is all the more impactful. At last, the long overdue collaboration is on the cards.
